With the long-infamous security challenges now slowly but certainly fading into an unpleasant past, Colombia’s geological wealth is set to take a central role in the country’s economic resurgence. Its oil and gas industry has seen huge improvements over the past few years. Its mining industry, while lagging somewhat behind, has also seen a reduction of bureaucratic delays and a number of discoveries to prove its mineral potential. Challenges remain abundant, not helped by the current dearth of mining finance, yet the future is undeniably bright.
