British Colombia is a mining powerhouse in its own right, producing an astounding array of minerals and perfectly positioned to cater to the continued commodity demand of Asia. Yet the province is further bolstered by being home to the city of Vancouver, undoubtedly the capital of global exploration and, increasingly, the home of major producers. An exploration of where Vancouver’s companies are investing is, in essence, an indication of global mining trends. Nonetheless, in a time of low commodity prices and scarce financing, the province and its leading city must fight to stay in the lead.
